According to the IRS, “The payroll tax exemption provides employers with an exemption from the employer’s 6.2 percent share of social security tax on wages paid to qualifying employees, effective for wages paid from March 19, 2010 through December 31, 2010.” There will be updates available to handle this new exemption in payroll coming in June. The updates will be available for the currently supported Microsoft Dynamics SL versions. The update will most likely include an update to the employee maintenance screen, the 941 report, and the W2 report.
